EXPO 2010 in Shanghai

The Expo 2010 will be held from May 1 to October 31, 2010, at a site measuring 5.28 km² that spans both sides of the Huang Pu River in Shanghai.

After Japan, China is the second country in Asia to host a major world exhibition. Appropriate to its size and self-image, China is expecting Expo 2010 to be the largest of all time, attracting 70 million visitors and 240 exhibitors. No other developing country has ever planned a World Expo of this size.

Michael Glos, then the Federal Minister of Economics, announced Germany’s participation in Expo 2010 in Shanghai on June 13, 2006.
