Koelnmesse erweitert Portfolio um PMRExpo - europäische Leitmesse für sichere Kommunikation

Das Ziel steht fest: Die PMRExpo soll als europäische Leitmesse für sichere Kommunikation noch vielfältiger, digitaler und internationaler aufgestellt werden. Dazu bietet das fünftgrößte Messeareal der Welt moderne Hallen mit flexibler Infrastruktur und ein an vielen Großmessen erprobtes Umfeld. „Wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir unserem Portfolio die PMRExpo hinzufügen und mit ihr unser Kompetenzfeld Digital Media, Entertainment and Mobility weiter ausbauen können“, bekräftigt Oliver Frese, Chief Operating Officer der Koelnmesse. „Auch im Jahr 2023 erwarten wir eine gewohnt hohe Veranstaltungsqualität bei gleichzeitig neuen Impulsen, die die Koelnmesse mit ihrem großen, internationalen Erfahrungsschatz bei der Ausgestaltung einbringen wird.“Auf der dreitägigen PMRExpo, die vom 28. bis 30. November 2023 als Fachmesse in Köln stattfindet, stehen Lösungen und Innovationen aus dem Bereich der sicheren einsatz- und geschäftskritischen mobilen Kommunikation im Fokus, die überwiegend bei Behörden und Organisationen mit Sicherheitsaufgaben (BOS), in der Industrie und im Bereich der Kritischen Infrastrukturen (KRITIS) zur Anwendung kommen. Wichtige Themen sind beispielsweise kritische Kommunikation, Cyber Security, Schmalbandnetze, Migration in Breitbandnetze oder 5G-Campusnetze, Applikationen, Geräte und Leitstellen.
Da die potenziellen Gefahren von Cyber-Angriffen, Sabotageakten, extremen Wetterereignissen oder auch Wirtschaftsspionage omnipräsent sind, steigt auch der Bedarf an sicherheitskritischer Kommunikation und resilienter Infrastruktur. Die Auswirkungen von Corona, Ukrainekrieg, Energiekrise und Klimawandel stellen schon heute erhöhte Anforderungen an die Kommunikation. Auch im Rahmen der anstehenden Digitalisierung von Staat und Wirtschaft spielt die sichere und hochverfügbare Konnektivität von Sensoren und Anwendungen eine Schlüsselrolle. Das sind nur einige der Gründe, warum die Koelnmesse und der PMeV national wie international ein enormes Wachstumspotential für die PMRExpo sehen, die mit einem umfangreichen Veranstaltungsprogramm inklusive Vorträgen, Diskussionen und interaktiven Beiträgen aufwarten wird.

Die PMRExpo fand bereits seit 2009 als Gastveranstaltung auf dem Gelände der Koelnmesse statt. Zu den bisherigen Kernelementen der Messe zählte unter anderem der Show-Bereich, in dem Aussteller aus der ganzen Welt ihre Produkte, Lösungen und Innovationen präsentieren konnten. Darüber hinaus widmeten sich diverse Symposien den branchen- und anwendungsspezifischen Herausforderungen.
Bei der konzeptionellen Weiterentwicklung der PMRExpo liegt der Fokus verstärkt auf der Neukundengewinnung, neuen Technologien und innovativen Veranstaltungselementen. Überdies wird die Einbindung des Koelnmesse-Auslandsnetzwerks für eine hohe Internationalität sorgen. Durch den Einsatz digitaler Plattformen und Formate werden außerdem neue Zielgruppen angesprochen – sowohl virtuell als auch vor Ort in den Hallen der Koelnmesse.

Koelnmesse expands portfolio with the addition of PMRExpo – Europe’s leading trade fair for secure communication
• Koelnmesse will become new event partner for PMRExpo from November 2023 • The German Professional Mobile Radio Association (PMeV) is behind the concept • Event to focus on digital media, entertainment and mobility • Digitalisation and cyber security are core topics
The PMRExpo has been re-imagined with a new vision: as Europe’s leading trade fair for secure communication, the event is now set to become even more diverse, digital and international. The world’s fifth-largest exhibition centre provides the perfect backdrop to the event, with its modern halls, flexible infrastructure and thoroughly tried-and-tested spaces for major events. “We are incredibly pleased to add the PMRExpo to our portfolio and to expand our expertise in the fields of digital media, entertainment and mobility”, says Oliver Frese, Chief Operating Officer at Koelnmesse. “In 2023, we anticipate the same exceptionally high event quality combined with new design ideas from Koelnmesse, inspired by the company’s wealth of experience around the world.”The three-day PMRExpo event, which will take place from 28 to 30 November 2023 in Cologne, will showcase solutions and innovations from the field of secure operational and business-critical mobile communication. These solutions are primarily used by authorities and organisations with security remits (emergency services), in industry and by operators of critical infrastructure (KRITIS). Key topics in these fields include critical communication, cyber security, narrow-band networks, migration to broadband networks or 5G campus networks, applications, devices and control centres.
The potential risks of cyberattacks, acts of sabotage, extreme weather and industrial espionage are omnipresent, resulting in an increased need for security-critical communication and resilient infrastructure. The coronavirus pandemic, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis and climate change have already had a knock-on effect on requirements for communication. As government bodies and private organisations increasingly move to digitalise their operations, secure and high-availability sensor and application connectivity will play a key role. These are just some of the reasons why Koelnmesse and the PMeV see enormous national and international growth potential for the PMRExpo, which will boast a comprehensive event programme of presentations, discussions and interactive sessions.

The PMRExpo has been held at the Koelnmesse site as a guest event since 2009. Core elements of the event to date have included the show area, which provides a platform for exhibitors from all over the world to showcase their products, solutions and innovations. Sector and application-specific challenges have also been discussed at numerous symposiums.
The new, re-imagined PMRExpo will focus more heavily on attracting new customers, as well as on new technologies and innovative event elements. Koelnmesse’s international network will also help the event go global. Digital platforms and formats will be deployed to target new audiences, both virtually and on site in the Koelnmesse halls.
